Privacy Policy

Genify ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. By using Genify, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture (via Google OAuth or direct signup). This is used to create and manage your account.

Prompts and Generated Documents

We store the prompts you submit and the documents we generate on your behalf. These are necessary to display your file history and allow you to re-download your documents. Your prompts are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. Authorized Genify administrators may access decrypted prompts solely for debugging and error resolution. All admin access to prompt data is logged and restricted to necessary cases only.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy. We do not store your credit card number or banking details. We receive transaction records (plan type, payment status, subscription ID) to manage your subscription.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data such as document types generated, format selected (PDF/Word), and session activity. This helps us improve the product. We do not sell this data.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • ✦To send transactional emails (account confirmation, payment receipts)
  • ✦To improve our document templates and service quality using anonymized, aggregated data
  • ✦To respond to support requests or legal obligations

Genify does not train or fine-tune AI models using your data. We do not use your prompts or generated documents to train any AI models. Claude, the AI model that powers document generation, is developed and trained independently by Anthropic. Anthropic's use of API data is governed by their own data usage policies, not Genify's.

3. Third-Party Services

Genify uses the following third-party services to operate:

Supabase

Authentication, database, and file storage. Data stored in EU-region servers.

Anthropic (Claude API)

Powers document generation. Your prompts are sent to Anthropic's API. Their data usage policy applies.

LemonSqueezy

Payment processing, subscription management, and billing. All payment data including credit card details are handled exclusively by LemonSqueezy and are never stored on Genify servers. Subscription management, cancellations, and billing disputes are handled through LemonSqueezy's platform. Their privacy policy is available at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

4. Data Retention

  • ✦Account data: retained until you delete your account
  • ✦Generated files: Free plan files deleted after 30 days. Pro plan files retained for 90 days.
  • ✦Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations
  • ✦Anonymized usage data: retained indefinitely for analytics

5. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • ✦Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • ✦Correction — request that we correct inaccurate data
  • ✦Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated data
  • ✦Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • ✦Objection — object to how we process your data
  • ✦Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time

6. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — for session authentication and security. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent you from logging in or using core features.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, row-level security on our database, and access controls limiting who can view your data. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately. User prompts are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM encryption. Decrypted access is limited to authorized administrators for debugging purposes only and is logged.

8. Children's Privacy

Genify is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email if the changes are material. Continued use of Genify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
